Powerful cyber-attack may hit U.K. in two weeksReprints
The U.K.'s National Crime Agency has told computer users to protect their machines from a powerful cyber-attack that gives hackers access to financial data, Sky News reported.
The botnet system used by the targets has been disrupted for the time being but the agency said users have only two weeks before the system could be up and running again, reports Sky News.
Court documents show that around 500,000 to 1 million machines across the globe have been infected.
Prosecutors say the criminals involved have collected more than $100 million so far.
