South Africa: Workers reject new wage offer, platinum strike continuesReprints
Striking members of South Africa's Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union have rejected a new wage offer by Anglo American Platinum Ltd., Lonmin P.L.C. and Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd., reports Reuters.
The strike, which has affected 40% of global platinum production, has been going on for almost four months.
Companies are facing more than 16.4 billion South African rand ($1.56 billion) in revenue losses.
