Bangladesh: Rana Plaza compensation fund short of $25 millionReprints
A scheme backed by the International Labour Organization to compensate victims of the Rana Plaza factory disaster is only one-third full, The Guardian reported.
The scheme set a target of $40 million, but only $15 million has been raised so far. Around half of the 28 brands linked to the collapsed factory complex have contributed to the fund, the newspaper said. British clothes retailer Primark Stores Ltd. made the biggest contribution to the fund, with a payment of $8 million.
