Bangladesh: Asian Development Bank to promote affordable crop insurance

The Asian Development Bank aims to help develop affordable crop insurance products in Bangladesh that will protect revenues of small farmers during natural disasters, The Daily Star reported.

Japan's government will provide a $2 million grant to set up such products in Bangladesh under the Weather Index-Based Crop Insurance Project.

The bank said Bangladesh is among the most climate-vulnerable countries on earth.
