Kenya: Committee to negotiate with insurance industry for Westgate traders

A 16-member committee will begin negotiating with the insurance industry on behalf of the traders affected by the terrorist attack at the Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya, Kenyan newspaper The Star reported.

Many traders did not have cover against terrorism.

Insurers were reluctant to make goodwill payments as they argued that terrorism covers were available in the market, sources said.
