U.K.: Upcoming court case to examine insurance in legal profession


The insurance process in the legal profession is set to be inspected in the U.K. High Court in a major battle later in 2014, The Lawyer reported.

The dispute, which involves Travelers Insurance Co. Ltd. and RSA Insurance Group Inc., is related to fraudulent property dealings by Willmett Solicitors' partner Jonathan Gilbert that sparked off claims and judgments worth £45 million ($73.8 million) against the firm.

The two insurers say cover should be capped at £10 million ($16.4 million) because of aggregation of claims.
