BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Obama open to changes in health care reform law, resists repeal

President Barack Obama says he will continue to oppose legislation to repeal the health care reform law, but will consider changes.

“If you've got good ideas, bring them to me. Let's go. But we're not repealing it as long as I'm president, and I want everyone to be clear about that,” he said at a Tuesday event in Washington promoting the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

“We're not going to walk away from it,” President Obama said, referring to the health care reform law. “If I've got to fight another three years to make sure the law works, then that's what I'll do,” he added.

The most significant regulatory change the Obama administration made to the health care reform law since its passage in 2010 was its decision in July to delay by one year to 2015 the requirement that employers with at least 50 full-time employees offer qualified coverage or pay a hefty fine.

The administration did not resist changes approved by Congress in 2011 that repealed one health care reform law provision that would have required employers to offer low-wage employees company-paid vouchers to buy coverage in state health insurance exchanges and a second provision that would have required employers doing more than $600 in business with a corporate vendor to furnish Form 1099 statements.
