BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

OFF BEAT: Ford vows to protect logo from connection with Toronto mayor

Ford Motor Co. has said it will protect its script logo from unauthorized use by supporters of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford as he deals with the fallout from revelations of his drug and alcohol use while in office.

According to a Detroit News report, the Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker said it did not authorize the use of its logo on “Ford Nation” T-shirts Mr. Ford signed this week at a charity event. The report quoted a Ford spokesman as saying the company considered the T-shirts an unauthorized use of its trademark and asked that its use be stopped.

Ford reclaimed control of its blue oval logo in May 2012 after pledging it and other assets as collateral for a $23.5 billion loan package. The collateral was released when credit rating agencies restored the automaker’s investment grade rating.

Mr. Ford recently admitted to using crack cocaine and purchasing illegal drugs while in office. In a largely symbolic action, the Toronto City Council voted Wednesday to ask him to take a leave of absence, though the mayor has vowed to remain in office.
