Russia: Helicopter crash-related damage estimated at more than $1 million

The recent Mi-8 helicopter crash in the Tomsk region of Russia represents an estimated property damage of more than 35 million Russian rubles ($1 million), Forinsurer reported.

The helicopter, which crashed on Jul. 15 2013, was insured by SOGAZ Insurance Co. OJSC and the insurer's regional representatives are discussing settlement related matters with Gazpromavia, the airline that owned the Mi-8 helicopter. The discussions will mainly be related to contract clauses that will influence the payment amount.
