Malta: Middlesea Insurance's top-line profits jump six-fold in 2012

Malta-based Middlesea Insurance P.L.C. recorded a €17.98 million ($23.7 million) profit after tax in 2012, compared to €3.11 million in 2011, Digital Interactive reported.

The increased profit came as the company’s top line premiums written increased 10.7% in 2012. The major challenge faced by the insurer included intensive price competition for policies at the corporate level. Alfredo Muñoz Perez, president and CEO of Middlesea Insurance, said that they will continue in their efforts to be regarded as the most trusted and reliable global insurer in the Maltese market
