BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The Institute of Risk Management has announced the composition of its new education advisory board.

The London-based IRM said Monday that the advisory group is intended to act as a high level “sounding board” to provide guidance on the development of its qualifications.

The board comprises 29 risk academics and practitioners from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In a statement, Lynn Drennan, director of the IRM’s education program, said the board’s aim was to “ensure that the programs continue to be relevant and reflect the changes taking place in the business environment — private, public and third sector — as well as assisting individuals to develop the competencies needed to successfully manage risk at every level of the organization.”
