China's export credit insurance and overseas investment insurance coverage increased 35.8% to $318.23 billion in 2012, reports Sohu.com Inc.
According to data from the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure), the insurance protection covered 14.3% of China's total exports, which is higher than the general average of 10%. The coverage helped insured businesses recover about $400 million in arrears and pay about $1.18 billion to businesses and banks. Sinosure supported large-scale, stand-alone enterprise and equipment exports to Ukraine, Tanzania, Mauritania, the UAE and other countries for the first time. Following this, Sinosure could now extend protection to petroleum, chemical, agricultural and other new industries.
