BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The captive managers association said the number of new licenses in 2012 was a 58% increase from 2011’s level, and that the domicile enjoyed its greatest number of formations since 2004.

Cayman captive assets also grew dramatically in 2012, with total premiums written by Cayman captives increasing 24% from their 2011 level to $11.8 billion, and total captive assets under management increasing 51% from the year prior to $88.1 billion.

IMAC said last year’s 52 new captives came from various sectors including health care, life reinsurance, property/casualty reinsurance, manufacturing and technology.
