BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—William T. Hold and the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research on Thursday pledged a $5 million gift to the Florida State University College of Business to further establish the school as leader in the academic fields of risk management.

FSU also announced the renaming of its risk management and insurance program, now known as the Dr. William T. Hold/National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance, according to a statement.

FSU Dean Caryn L. Beck-Dudley and other school officials announced the new name for the program, which is in appreciation of Mr. Hold—an alumnus of FSU and co-founder and president of the Austin, Texas-based National Alliance—and his organization, according to a statement.

“The Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance elevates the pre-eminent national and international status of insurance education at the Florida State University and will make a profound difference in the lives of our students, graduates and citizens,” said FSU President Eric J. Barron, in the statement.

The $5 million gift to the Tallahassee, Fla.-based university’s business college will help launch the school’s “The Risk Initiative” campaign, which supports the risk management insurance program’s objectives.

“The naming and combined resources of Florida State University and the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research will result in a broader and stronger academic and business framework on which to continue to build more meaningful and unique educational programs for both the academic and business communities,” Mr. Hold said in the statement. “The result will be more valuable programs for all those who participate and for those they serve.”

The gift will be funded by Mr. Hold, individual contributors and special advertisements in National Alliance’s magazine, according to the statement.
