ST. JOHN’S, NewfoundlandThe Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc.’s Ontario chapter presented Janice McGraw with the Donald M. Stuart Award, Canada’s highest honor within the risk management field, on Tuesday.
Ms. McGraw, manager of risk management and insurance at McGill University in Montreal, received the award at the 2009 RIMS Canada conference in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The Donald M. Stuart Award, which originated in 1979, acknowledges Canadian risk managers who have made contributions to the field of risk management.
Ms. McGraw, a RIMS fellow holder, also is a part-time lecturer at McGill University’s Centre for Continuing Education. She also has served as a member of RIMS Canada Council’s National Education Committee and is a past member of RIMS board of directors.
Also presented during the conference was the Fred H. Bossons Award, which goes to the risk management professional who earns the highest marks on the three required courses to receive the Canadian Risk Management designation. The award was presently jointly to Samuel Holliss, risk analyst at Magna International Inc. and Brian Jeans, regional technical dangerous goods inspector at Transport Canada.
