LOS ANGELES—Jerry Oshinsky, a litigator for policyholders in insurance coverage matters, has joined Jenner & Block L.L.P. as a partner, the law firm announced Wednesday.

Mr. Oshinsky, who comes to Jenner & Block from Gilbert Oshinsky L.L.P., will work out of Jenner & Block’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Oshinsky’s practice focuses primarily on insurance coverage litigation on behalf of policyholders in federal and state courts nationwide.

Prior to becoming a named partner for Washington-based Gilbert Oshinsky in 2008, he was a lead attorney for Dickstein Shapiro L.L.P.

Mr. Oshinsky has had lead roles in several large insurance coverage cases, including one involving Keene Corp., an insulation manufacturer that provided materials that contained asbestos. Keene Corp. vs. Insurance Co. of North America is considered a landmark Washington Circuit Court case as it established the “continuous trigger” principle in insurance coverage law.
