BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Louisiana governor vetoes workers comp bill

BATON ROUGE, La.—Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has vetoed legislation that would have extended the time injured employees have to file a workers compensation claim from two years to three.

House Bill 658, authored by Rep. Christopher J. Roy Jr., D-Alexandria, would have cost private sector employers about $7.9 million annually and would have had an unacceptable impact on the setting of reserves, premiums and litigation costs, the governor said Monday in a veto letter.

The Louisiana Assn. of Self Insured Employers and the Property Casualty Insurers Assn. of America were among several groups that asked him to veto the bill, the governor said.
