BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

HAMILTON, Bermuda—XL Capital Ltd. has appointed two new executives to senior positions, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based insurer said Thursday.

Sarah Street, who joined XL in 2001 from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., has been named chief investment officer designate to replace Christopher Greetham, who plans to retire from that post in September.

Additionally, James Veghte was appointed to the position of chief executive of reinsurance general operations, XL said in a statement.

Mr. Veghte most recently served as chief operating officer of the company's reinsurance operations and president and chief executive officer of Stamford, Conn.-based XL Reinsurance America Inc. He will replace Henry Keeling, who will continue as head of XL's Global Business Services unit.

Ms. Street and Mr. Veghte will join XL's executive management board, XL said, and retain their current responsibilities as CEO of XL Capital Investment Partners Inc. and CEO of XL Reinsurance America Inc., respectively.

In a statement, Brian O'Hara, XL's president and CEO, noted that the both executive appointments are part of "ongoing development and succession plans for XL."
