Mining firm files lawsuit over $22 million insurance fraud

Chile-based copper mining firm Codelco worker unions over an alleged scam of more than $20 million in insurance contracts for workers at two of its mines, Nasdaq reported citing Reuters. Codelcosaid that the contracts’ inflated premiums had cost $22 million between 2005 and 2018, half of which was borne by the company and half by its workers.
