Global cat claims drop 40% in 2019

A report by the Swiss Re Institute said that global insurance claims from natural and man-made catastrophes are expected to be around $56 billion this year, compared with $93 billion last year, Xprimm reports. This year also saw heatwaves and dry spells, with new temperature highs recorded in several locations around the world, from Europe to Australia. Devastating wildfires affected Australia, Indonesia, the US, Canada, the Amazon region and Siberia, among others.
