A report by U.S.-based Verizon Communication Inc. found that 45% of companies around the world failed to comply with payment security regulations, risking cyber attacks and their future ability to take card payments, Computer Business Review reported. The companies failed to scan their systems for vulnerabilities often enough and sometimes did not even encrypt data. The businesses include department stores, hotels and restaurants.
