James Hooper, managing director of Australia's specialist agricultural insurance agency Rural Affinity Insurance Agency Pty. Ltd., said that multi-peril crop insurance can develop in the country, Farm Weekly reports.
"We don't have a product out there at present, but we believe it is something that will continue to develop," said Mr. Hooper.
"Australia is a small market in relation to the global crop insurance market," Mr. Hooper said, adding that "international insurers and reinsurers have the opportunity to offset their Australian risk with worldwide portfolios."
