Tom de Swaan, chairman of Zurich Insurance Group A.G., expects to see more mergers and acquisitions in the insurance industry in the coming years, reported Reuters citing newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag.

"Higher regulatory requirements and technological change make massive investment necessary, and not all small and medium-sized insurers will be able to do that alone," added Mr. de Swaan.
