Southeast Asia could see maritime terrorist attacks: Security expert

Kevin Doherty, president of U.S.-based Nexus Consulting, has said that Southeast Asia could experience maritime terrorist attacks in 2016, reported Splash 24/7.

Several terrorists are being released from Indonesia and a number of Syrian fighters are returning to Asia, said Mr. Doherty. "Should an Indonesia terrorist link up with a Filipino terrorist, things will get bad quickly in Southeast Asia," Mr. Doherty said. Despite that, he said that organized piracy "will continue to be on the decline in 2016."
