Tianjin blasts likely to affect global supply chain for years: Report

A report by U.S.-based Resilinc Corp. has said that the recent explosions in Tianjin, China are likely to affect the global supply chain for years, reported Supply Management.

The report said that port operations would only resume by about the middle of September, with re-routing potentially causing weeks of delays.

The explosions will prompt long-term effects such as new regulations, stricter insurance rulings and hefty fines for non-compliance, the report added.

The Tianjin blasts caused huge damage to warehouses, factories, transport and utilities infrastructure, among others.
