Drones pose airline safety risk, pilots sayReprints
Pilots have said that unregulated drones near airports in U.A.E.'s Dubai city pose a serious threat to airplane safety, Gulf News reported.
Operations at Dubai airport were stopped for 55 minutes recently due to an unmanned aerial vehicle flying near commercial airlines' flight path.
The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority is working on formulating regulations for remote-controlled drones and planes, an official said.
When an object hits an aircraft in flight, "it can cause a leakage and cause it to burst," Captain Khalid Masud Butt, an official at the Fujairah Aviation Academy said.
