Mission accomplished for 57-year-old megastar Tom Cruise, whose new film “Mission: Impossible-Fallout” debuted Friday as the No. 1 film over the weekend despite the actor having broken his ankle last summer during the infamous London rooftop leap, according to media reports.

In fact, a lot of stuntmen and actors suffered such workplace injuries on this movie’s set during filming over the past two years, as highlighted on a recent USA Today segment. Mentioned in a montage of interviews: muscle spasms, lingering rib and back pain, a broken hand, broken toes and much, much more.

Filming the sixth “Mission: Impossible” was a “permanent state being injured“ and “you are never fully healed,” stunt doubles went on to say.

Most impressive, USA Today reported Thursday, is that Mr. Cruise performed most of his own stunts, even running around on his broken ankle.
