EPIC hires captive specialist from Artex Risk Solutions

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants said Tuesday it has hired captive insurance executive Sam Wagener from Artex Risk Solutions Inc. as principal in its property/casualty operations in the West.
Mr. Wagener was previously senior vice president – group captives at Artex where he managed relationships and operations of five member-owned captives.
As principal, Mr. Wagener will provide risk management and insurance coverages, including captive insurance programs, to organizations, an EPIC statement said. He will report to Brian Quinn, managing principal, based in San Ramon, California.
Mr. Wagener spent more than 16 years at Artex, a unit of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
This is the latest in a series of recent hires announced by San Francisco-based EPIC.
