Liberty Mutual providing Lyft driver rideshare cover

Liberty Mutual Insurance Group will provide coverage for drivers using the Lyft rideshare platforms in Arizona, Michigan, New Mexico, Texas and Utah, the insurer said in a statement Thursday.
Liberty Mutual will provide coverage in the five states from the time a driver has their Lyft app on to app off under the program, the statement said.
Nicholas Grant, Liberty Mutual vice president, product technology solutions, said the Boston-based insurer’s mobility practice brings together specialized underwriting, actuarial, claims and service teams.
Liberty Mutual in January said it would provide auto insurance for Uber drivers and passengers in New England, South Carolina and Puerto Rico in 2020.
When asked about coverages in other states, a spokeswoman wrote in an email that Lyft is “not disclosing that level of detail at this time.”
