2016 Risk Manager of the Year, Risk Management Honor Roll announced

Business Insurance announced Thursday the 2016 Risk Manager of the Year® and Risk Management Honor Roll®.

The 2016 Risk Manager of the Year® is Gus Fuldner, head of insurance at Uber Technologies Inc. in San Francisco. Mr. Fuldner joined Uber, which is best known for its ride-sharing services, in 2013. Over the past three years, he has constructed an innovative risk management program addressing the company's often unique risks.

The 2016 Risk Management Honor Roll® members are: Shari Natovitz, senior vice president and director of risk management at Silverstein Properties Inc., the New York-based real estate firm whose properties include the World Trade Center; and Patrick Sterling, senior director of risk and people administration at Texas Roadhouse Inc., the Louisville, Kentucky-based restaurant company that operates 450 restaurants nationwide.

The honorees were selected by an independent panel of judges composed of former honorees, and risk management and insurance industry executives and experts.

The awards will be presented at the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc.'s Annual Conference & Exhibition, which will be held April 10-13 in San Diego.

Profiles of the winners will appear in the April 11 edition of Business Insurance.

The awards, which have been in existence for nearly 40 years, recognize outstanding work in the field of risk management.
