Elevance Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana have paused their proposed $2.5 billion merger amid concerns from state regulators regarding potential reductions in competition and elevated health care costs, reports Healthcare Dive. Announced earlier this year, the merger would consolidate Elevance, which manages BCBS plans in 14 states, with BCBSLA, Louisiana's top insurer.
