UnitedHealthcare Inc. has been fined $546,500 by Utah for selling unapproved health insurance plans to state residents, Becker’s Payer Issues reports. The issue became known in March 2022 when it was discovered that the company had sold policies without filing the necessary forms. The group policy, which had been in place since 2014, included 2,200 Utah residents. UnitedHealthcare resolved the administrative issue and received approval for its forms in July 2023.
