Regence BlueShield to manage Idaho state employees' health insurance

Regence BlueShield of Idaho is set to manage the health insurance of more than 25,000 Idaho state employees and over 35,000 of their family members, marking the first time the state changes insurers in nearly two decades, reports the Idaho Capital Sun. The contract, signed on Jan. 4, is still pending a final decision due to a lawsuit from Blue Cross of Idaho, the previous insurer since 2004.
