The MaineHealth health care system will switch administration of its self-insured employee health plan to Aetna Inc. from Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield starting in 2023, WMTW reports. The Portland-based health system has about 22,000 employees. In April, MaineHealth said its flagship hospital, Maine Medical Center in Portland, would exit the Anthem network in January, citing more than $70 million in unpaid claims over the past three years as justification for the split.
