Hamilton recruits from rival to launch E&O unit in US

Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd. has hired Jamie Secor from rival Kinsale Insurance Co. to build a U.S. excess and surplus lines professional liability business through its managing general agency, the insurer said Friday.
Ms. Secor will be head of professional liability insurance for Hamilton Managing General Agency Americas LLC.
She “is building out her E&O team, and a book that will target surplus lines accounts for small and mid-size entities that may be hard to place, including E&O for architects, engineers, law firms, insurance agents and brokers, and other E&O classes of business,” a Hamilton statement said.
Ms. Secor spent about 10 years at Kinsale, where she worked on professional liability before heading the Richmond, Virginia-based insurer’s commercial property division.
