SAN DIEGO — The Ontario chapter of the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. was presented with the society’s first diversity, equity and inclusion award during the awards luncheon at Riskworld on Monday.
The award recognizes a chapter that has taken intentional and exceptional actions to improve DE&I and includes $5,000 to develop the program further.
Also, during the luncheon, the RIMS Great Bluegrass Chapter in Louisville, Kentucky, was named chapter of the year and Chelsea Andrusiak, manager, risk and insurance at Federated Co-operatives Ltd. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, received the rising risk professional award.
Several other awards are due to be presented later in the conference, including Risk Manager of the Year, which will be awarded to Steven Robles, assistant CEO/county risk manager for the county of Los Angeles. In addition, Mrunal Pandit, senior manager – insurance for Tata Consumer Products Ltd. in Bengaluru, India, was inducted into the RIMS Risk Management Honor Roll.
The Ron Judd Heart of RIMS award, which recognizes an individual who furthers risk management at the chapter level, will be given to Julie Bean, director, risk management at the Chamberlain Group and leader with RIMS Chicago Chapter.
