Christian Mumenthaler, chief executive at Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., said that the insurance sector in China is likely to double in size in the coming decade amid robust economic growth, making the region a more significant market for the reinsurer, Asia Insurance Review reported citing China Daily. The reinsurer’s annual report shows that Swiss Re earned net premiums and fee income of $1.54 billion in China in 2023, representing about 3% of its total net premiums.
