UnitedHealth Group Inc. is closing its Optum Virtual Care telehealth business, with some employees' last day slated for July, PYMNTS reports. The decision comes amid a decline in telehealth usage, with a PYMNTS Intelligence report indicating that consumer participation in telehealth ranged between 30% and 40% from January to July 2022, down from the spike seen during the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021.
