Vermont health care providers are advocating for a state bill aimed at reforming the prior authorization process of health insurers, aligning it with Medicaid and Medicare practices, Becker’s Payer Issues reports. The bill, already passed by the House, would also allow for patients and providers to request exemptions to step therapy and mandate health insurers to decide prior authorizations within set timelines.
