Everest expands role of head of reinsurance, appoints new global exec

Everest Group Ltd. announced Monday that it has expanded the role of Jim Williamson, chief operating officer and head of reinsurance, to include leading the underwriting firm’s insurance division.
Mr. Williamson, who previously held leadership positions at Chubb Ltd., Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. and Bain & Co., will continue to work closely with Jill Beggs, who will now lead the reinsurance division’s global businesses.
Ms. Beggs was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of the reinsurance division in February 2024. She was a Business Insurance 2023 Women to Watch honoree.
Everest also said Mike Karmilowicz was appointed as a chairman of Everest Global Insurance, where he will report to Everest President and CEO Juan C. Andrade.
Mr. Williamson is based at Everest’s headquarters in Warren, N.J., and will continue to report to Juan Andrade.
