Average health savings account balances rose to $4,418 at the end of 2022, up from $2,711 at the start of the year, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute, Plansponsor reports. The increase is attributed to rising health care costs and out-of-pocket spending amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
