Hong Kong extreme weather insurance claims reach $243 million

Data published by the Insurance Authority of Hong Kong showed the total gross claims incurred from Typhoon Saola and a black rainstorm that hit the region in early September reached $1.9 billion Hong Kong ($243 million), Asia Insurance Review reported. Furthermore, property damage represented 86% of the total gross claims incurred due to the events.
