BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

wind farms

The way they see it, mansion owners and preservation groups in Newport and Block Island say that two large offshore wind farms, however environmentally friendly, will ruin their distinct view of the ocean.

As reported by the Providence Journal in Rhode Island, the approval of two large offshore wind farms in the ocean waters off Rhode Island has resulted in a lawsuit against the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.

The Preservation Society of Newport County, which owns 11 historic properties, and the Southeast Lighthouse Foundation on Block Island say the projects will adversely affect the historic character of the area.

“We support green energy,” Trudy Coxe, CEO of the Preservation Society, said in a statement issued to the newspaper. “For two years, we pointed out serious problems with the federal permitting process, but BOEM never listened. Green energy projects need not come at the unnecessary loss to our community’s irreplaceable character and sense of place.”
