Italy starts probe into market dominance of Apple

Italy’s competition authority, AGCM, has launched an investigation into Apple Inc. for allegedly abusing its dominant position in the smartphone apps market, ThePrint reported citing Reuters. The technology giant penalized third-party app developers by imposing a more stringent privacy policy on them than the one it applies on itself. Companies that abuse their market dominance risk a fine of up to 10% of their annual turnover under the European Union competition law.
