To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Natural disasters cause nearly $224 billion economic loss in 2022


Data from the Emergency Event Database, maintained by Belgium-based Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters, showed that an estimated 387 natural hazards and disasters caused global economic losses of around $223.8 billion in 2022, reported. Losses from floods in Nigeria amounted to $4.2 billion, while Pakistan floods caused economic damage of $15 billion and drought events in China caused a damage of around $7.6 billion.
