Vermont names next captive division leader

Sandy Bigglestone has been named to succeed David Provost as deputy commissioner of the captive insurance division of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation in Montpelier.
Mr. Provost is retiring at the end of the summer, Vermont’s Agency of Commerce and Community Development announced last week.
Ms. Bigglestone has served as director of captive insurance since 2010 and prior to that was director of examinations. She started as an entry-level examiner in the captive insurance division in 1997.
Ms. Bigglestone has “the experience and skills and new ideas to help guide the industry forward,” Mr. Provost said in a statement issued Wednesday by the Agency of Commerce and Community Development.
Ms. Bigglestone was a Business Insurance Women to Watch honoree in 2018 and is an advisory board member to the Business Insurance World Captive Forum.
