Aon PLC said Wednesday it had released its new Impact Forecasting Florida hurricane model.
The model incorporates a range of wind mitigation options and secondary building characteristics and features an event set that calculates wind hazards during the entire lifecycle of each simulated hurricane.
Aon says the new model can assist insurers with the identification of risk drivers at the location level, with calculating portfolio loss metrics, and with understanding the impact of climate change.
The Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology has certified the model for ratemaking in the state, Aon said Wednesday in its statement.
Aon PLC said Wednesday it is introducing cyber and professional liability insurance online for small and medium-sized businesses.
