Old Republic reorganizes construction business

Old Republic Contractors Insurance Group Inc., a stand-alone underwriting affiliate of Old Republic International Corp., has been reorganized into Bitco General Insurance Corp. and renamed BITCO Construction Group Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Old Republic, the insurer said in a statement Wednesday.
Vince Lamb, previously president for Bitco General Insurance Corp., will serve as president and CEO of the newly formed BITCO Construction Group Inc.
Craig Smiddy, Chicago-based Old Republic International’s president and CEO, said in the statement that combining the two organizations will allow Old Republic to serve the U.S. construction marketplace “on a united front.”
