Toyota plants remain closed due to parts shortage amid protests

Production halt at Toyota Motor Corp.’s three manufacturing lines in Ontario continued on Feb. 14 as the ongoing protests by Canadian truckers disrupted the supply of parts, The Economic Times reported citing Reuters. The plants have been closed since Feb. 10 due to the protests and blockades at crucial trade routes, causing supply chain disruptions, which according to IHS Markit, have caused an estimated $850 million loss to the auto industry alone.
