The U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Treasury and Labor jointly released an interim final rule to implement a ban on surprise medical bills, detailing how disputes over out-of-network charges will be handled, reports Fierce Healthcare. The latest rule details an independent dispute resolution process to determine an out-of-network rate for items and services after talks between payers and providers break down.
